FUNNEL

DECK

The funnel deck is split into an observation deck forward and a working area aft. The deck can be accessed from bridge deck via an external starboard staircase with crew access built into the funnel. An all-weather awning stretches form the funnel to the mast.

The smaller of the two helipads on the aft deck is equipped with a harpoon grid for landing. A helicopter refueling station is adjacent to the upper landing pad and a helicopter spares store is opposite to port.
When not in use, the deck doubles as the stowing area for the 8.5m / 28’ Protector RIB. There are 2 Cramm hydraulic cranes port and starboard for launching Protector.
The communications domes are integrated into the design of the funnel streamlined by forward and aft louvres concealing the catalytic exhausts, engine room casing and the top of elevator shaft.
